Motorola Rethinking Computing
In the fall of 2009, I was part of a group project to look into the future of computing. The team consisted of 2 industrial designers and 2 user experience designers. The focus of this project was more about design strategy and less about the final objects. The outcome of this project was the kick-off of a roadmap project which became the Motorola XOOM.
We took intuitive leaps, we worked through a typical day in the life, we created simple props to role play different scenarios, did consumer research, and looked at the things that we would have thought technology should have replaced.
We learned something we didn't expect.
