Motorola Evoke QA4

Motorola Evoke QA4

I was ID Lead on the Evoke QA4 from start to finish.  It launched in the spring of 2009.  This was based on a Collections concept I had done in 2006 with the roadmap project starting shortly after Collections ended in the fall.  The goal was to bring a whole new type of phone to the market -somewhere in between a feature phone and the full smart phones of the era (think Windows mobile).  This was meant to offer a touchscreen experience with full HTML web access, widgets which were like early apps, in a slider form factor that gave people a tactile bell keypad.

The layout in-hand is frickin’ ideal, the material choices, finish, and style are just so well executed that we found ourselves fairly stunned when we first got our mitts on it.
